ABOUT US
Civilians Disaster Response Organization, (CDRO) is a non-profit that has been a lifeline for farms and communities in Western North Carolina since 2019. They work tirelessly to ensure farms recover from natural disasters by providing essential feeds, farming equipment, fencing and support needed to recover their farms.
CDRO has been a steadfast leader in disaster response, with a proven track record of supporting communities in crisis. During Hurricane Dorian in 2019, we deployed chainsaw crews and provided critical assistance to those in need. Over the years, we've prioritized the unique needs of farmers and rural communities—groups often overlooked in disaster relief efforts. From resource distribution to long-term recovery, we've dedicated ourselves to ensuring the resilience and well-being of all 27 farming communities across Western North Carolina.
The unprecedented challenges posed by Hurricane Helene have further underscored the vital role we play in supporting farmers and livestock owners in our region. Whether clearing debris, delivering supplies, or coordinating recovery efforts, CDRO continues to be a trusted and tireless resource for these communities. Together, we're building stronger, more resilient futures for those who feed and sustain us all.
